Memories:
Mostly Oakfield & Kingsdale but too many names to mention. A few though were my best friend at Kingsdale, John McKenzie and some girls: Sylvia Talbot, Angela Norrington, Pearl Dawes & Josephine Grummit.
After Kingsdale , I wanted to get into Advertising but had failed all my GCE`s miserably so I bacame a messenger for McCann Erickson on Fetter Lane as it was the only way in. (The CEO then was an American called Tom Cautter). After two years there and getting put into the Media Dept. (boring) I saw a fabulous film by Ken Russel on Elgar (BBC) and that was the beginning of wanting to take photographs. So I started reading the Want Ads and answered one for an Assistant photographer at a big catalogue studio in Marble Arch called Carlton Studios (later to become Carlton TV) , then worked for a Fashion Photographer called Barry Lategan and eventually I came to work in New York City (1968) to work for an American photographer, Irving Penn. I then left on my own to work for myself and have been here since.
I was married for 8 years, then divorced, raised my son Alexander who is now 20 years old.
I still have family in England and in Texas (where my father was from) but even after all these years it`s still England that I feel is truly home.
